Already as a small child, I was always interested in my surroundings. I remember picking up a magnifying glass and observing almost anything in our garden through it. My fascination for the details of life never ceased and so I started my studies in pharmaceutical sciences. As a scientist, I am mostly occupied with revealing how the world works, but as an enthusiastic photographer, I sometimes take a break, seize the moment, and marvel at what the world has to offer, without trying to explain it.
My passion for photography started through traveling the globe. Initially, I was just documenting my own vacations, but when I swapped to analogue cameras for a while, I have become much more aware of what I was capturing. My focus has shifted from my own experience to what is actually happening around me ever since. Through this approach, I have also gained an entirely new perspective on foreign lives, where everyone has a story that is fascinating and captivating in its own way. And these are the stories I want to share, together with other scenes that caught my eye.
